The Black Narcissus

10Feb10
Even as his approval ratings plunge into the 40's, the arrogance of Barack Obama has yet to find its limit.

Perhaps he feels justified.

At the beginning of the Obama Presidency, the Democratic super majority came hard out of the gate. They set immediately to work spending taxpayer money and growing the debt to solidify their hold. They've expanded the scope and powers of government beyond anything previously seen on American soil, and advancing the progressive agenda by decades, putting a framework in place for something big to come.

But thus far, President Obama has failed to see his signature domestic policies become reality. Aided by a few watchdogs, the American electorate has awakened into something fierce and terrible. We've seen the emptiness of a politicians words, and seen the threat posed to our very way of life. Exercising our natural right of defense we seized up the only weapon at our disposal, a broken Republican party. With us behind them, they've momentarily found their spines, and with us fought the "Bolshevik Plot" to a standstill.

Though on his heels, Barry O's lost none of his swagger. He's dismissed us as beneath his response, and called Republican's resistance simple 'obstinacy,'. He's calling for "bipartisanship". But in his tone I hear:

Do it my way...or else.

His threats are empty. A sign of weakness. Democrats have squandered their advantage, and with mid-terms fast approaching, Obama is at risk of becoming a lame duck president.

The time for compromise is through. Give no quarter.

I'm pretty sure I was supposed to get something from this than the feeling that I'm old. Whippersnapper.
